On Friday, October 16, 2026, the National Heritage Institute (INP), under the supervision of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, celebrated World Intangible Cultural Heritage Day.
This celebration is at the heart of Tunisia’s efforts to nominate the traditional men’s “Djebba” for inscription on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
In addition to several thematic presentations dedicated to the safeguarding of intangible heritage, the event featured a live demonstration showcasing the country’s most prestigious styles of men’s Djebbas.
