Between 12 and 31 December 2024, scientific research in the Chott el-Jerid region (Nefta, governorate of Tozeur) led to the discovery of several archaeological sites dating from prehistoric and Roman times. These discoveries will enrich archaeological and historical research into man’s relationship with the desert environment and its interaction with the climatic changes that the region has experienced over the course of history.
This field mission is part of the international cooperation agreement between the Institut National du Patrimoine and the University of Tulsa.
