As part of the partnership between the National Heritage Institute, the Italian municipality of NUORO and ARCS Tunisia under the ‘RINOVA’ project for the conservation and enhancement of archaeological and intangible heritage in southern Tunisia, which was carried out between 10 August 2023 and 31 January 2024 at the Aouled Soltane palace in the governorate of Tataouine with co-funding from the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS) and the National Heritage Institute (INP), A ceremony to inaugurate and inspect the maintenance work carried out on the palace and the various parts that have been used as a shop selling local produce and workshops for the artistic creativity of women from the agricultural development group was held in the presence of the Director General of the National Heritage Institute and the Italian Ambassador, the representative of the commune of NUORO, the representative of the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development and various representatives of the regional administrations of Tataouine (Commune of Tataouine, Delegate for Cultural Affairs, Delegate for Women, Delegate for Tourism, Delegate for Agriculture) as well as civil society and representatives of the farming communities of Tataouine.
