Within the framework of the ‘Partnership for Heritage’ project in the village of Chenni Tataouine, funded by the Cultural Protection Fund, the British Council and the British Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute, the Director General of the National Heritage Institute met with the governor of Tataouine on Saturday morning, 12 April 2025, in the presence of all parties involved in the project and representatives of the regional authority to discuss the completion of the last tranche of the project and effective ways to use it for the benefit of the region.
Following this meeting, the Director General, accompanied by Ms. Anna Leone from the English side, the Regional Inspector of Heritage in the South East, representatives of the ARCS Association and executives from the state of Tataouine, visited the Heritage Valuation Centre in the village of Chenni to check the progress of the work, which is in its final stages. The meeting was an opportunity to listen to the staff of the National Heritage Institute in Tataouine.
