Inaugurating the archaeological storage project for the Oudhana site
Today, August 27, 2024, the inauguration of the archaeological reserves project for the site of Oudhna, a project that falls within the framework of international cooperation between the Ministry of Cultural Affairs represented by the National Institute of Heritage and the Ambassadors Fund for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage of the United States Embassy in Tunisia, which granted a grant of 164,635 dollars for the implementation of this project, while the contribution of the National Institute of Heritage was mainly the specialized manpower and the project leadership committee that extended over six years from 2018 to 2024 and consisted of the restoration and equipment of Roman cisterns and their transformation into archaeological reserves; that meet international standards in this field. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the US Ambassador to Tunisia, Mr. Joey Hood, the Director General of the National Heritage Institute, Mr. Tarek Baccouche, and a group of executives of the National Heritage Institute and the Agency for the development heritage and cultural promotion.
